First mobile, In 1973, the very first cell phone was created by Martin Cooper, an engineer at Motorola. This prototype was called the DynaTAC and, while it was bulky and only offered a 30-minute talk time after a 10-hour charge, it was a significant technological breakthrough that laid the foundation for the future of mobile communication.

“FIRST MOBILE” : 1973 – THE VERY FIRST CELL PHONE
Motorola produced the first-ever portable cell phone in 1973, which was called the DynaTAC 8000X. The device was rather bulky, shaped like a brick, and weighed around 2.4 pounds. It had a maximum talk time of only 30 minutes, requiring a whopping 10 hours of charging. Martin Cooper, an executive at Motorola at the time, placed the first-ever cell phone call to Dr. Joel Engel, who worked for rival company Bell Labs. While groundbreaking, the DynaTAC was not affordable, with a price tag of $3,995 at the time, which would amount to $10,000 in today’s money. Today, a mint condition DynaTAC 8000X can fetch up to £44,888 on eBay.

However, it did have some limitations like its size and battery life, which made it less practical to use compared to modern-day smartphones. Nonetheless, it paved the way for further innovations in cell phone technology that we enjoy today.

The Siemens Mobiltelefon C1 was indeed one of the early models of mobile phones and was quite large in size, resembling a briefcase. In those days, people used phones that looked like briefcases as it was the only way they could carry a large enough battery to stay connected while on the go. However, as technology evolved over time, phones gradually became more compact and easier to carry around, leading to the sleek and portable smartphones we use today.
